Zealotry

Linux users are sometimes described as "zealots".

zealot |ˈzelət|noun. a person who is fanatical and uncompromising in pursuit of their religious, political, or other ideals.

Well? Are you a Linux zealot? Are you unwilling to use a certain different operating system for a given task even if that task would be easier under that OS? If so, then why? If the answer is ideological rather than due to the suitability of the tools in question, then yes, you are a Linux zealot.

The word zealot carries a lot of baggage with it, but zealotry isn't a bad thing in itself, sometimes it's even admirable. A far worse accusation would be that of bigotry.

bigotry |ˈbigətrē|noun. bigoted attitudes; intolerance toward those who hold different opinions from oneself.

It's one thing to be zealous... quite another to be intolerant of differing opinions of others. And it's often a line that can be difficult to discern.

I think you word you were looking for is "analyst"

Noticed this typo while perusing some community docs. :-)

The per category "analist" permissions are quite useful - you can also augment their permissions with a specific package (so on top of their category rights, they can see and play with a particular package - which may be used as a "practice" area, or test area for instance). The above provides a few ways to manage permissions in a coarse or fine grained way, as suits the different types of users.

The PC : the runner up choice

Does no one at Microsoft actually look at these things before they are approved ?

When given $1000US to buy any 17 inch laptop she wants... Lauren immediately goes to an Apple store. And since Apple's 17 inch laptops cost more than $1000US she then goes to "some PC store" and buys a HP Vista laptop instead.

Isn't this saying that the PC is the second choice laptop ?
